1st day of school

The kids started school last Wednesday. They were all really excited, especially Taylor (who was starting Junior High) and Josie (because she absolutely loves school). I think that Brenden was even a little excited. Taylor really enjoyed junior high. He said that it is way better than elementary. He didn't forget his locker combination and made it to all of his classes on time, so the first day was defintiely a success. I think that I was more nervous that he was. I still can't believe I have a child in junior high. It is going to be alot of fun though. I can already see that he is going to have some great experiences.

Josie has been ready to start back at school since about a week after school got out. She was really excited to have Mrs. Warenski as her teacher. She taught Brenden in 2nd grade and was a fantastic teacher. Josie could not even wait to get to school.

Brenden's 4th grade teacher is Mrs. Mitchell and I think he is going to have a great time in her class. She has lots of computers in her classroom that her class gets to work on alot. Brenden loves all of that stuff so I think he and Mrs. Mitchell are going to get along great.

Josie still let me go into her classroom and take a picture of her on the first day. I'm so glad because I don't want my little girl to get too old for that. She is at such a fun age and is really excited about what the next year will bring.

I also went back to school on the first day and it was a good day. It was good to get back into a good routine. This summer has flown by and we had lots of fun, but I guess it had to come to an end sometime. The first day was definitely a success. I am so glad that my kids really enjoy school. I think it would be so difficult if you had to force them to go everyday. There are some days where they really don't want to go, but for the most part they really do want to be there to learn and to hang out with the friends.

Douglas Family Reunion

While Brandt and his family were in town we wanted to get all of the Douglas family together for a family reunion. It was so much fun. We went swimming at James and Carli's clubhouse and it was a blast.

Here is a picture of the whole family together. It was so nice to see everyone and I know my grandma really loved having everyone get together.

Children's Parade 2009

Our ward entered the children's parade for Fiesta Days again this year. My kids were so excited to be in the parade. It is something that they really look forward to every year. This year was extra fun for the kids because we had family here from out of town that came with us to the parade. This is Steve's cousin, Jennifer's, little girl, Natalie. Her and Kate got along so well and Natalie was way excited to be in the parade with Kate (although you can't really tell from this picture).

Brandt's family was still visiting us for the parade so Shelby rode in the parade with Josie. These girls have fun no matter what they are doing, as long as they are together.

Layne came with Brenden in the parade and they two of them carried our ward banner in front of the float. They did a great job.

The front of our float had 2 flags that were made up of kid's handprints and footprints. It was really cute.

Here are Brenden and Layne carrying the banner.

After the parade we hung out at th epark for a few minutes and did some activities there. Josie and Shelby had lots of fun.

Here is my family (minus Steve who is taking the picture) and Brandt's family all together at the park. It was so fun to have them visiting us. We can't wait for them to come again.
Our primary float ended up taking 3rd place in the children's parade, which means that we got to be in the Grand Fiesta Days' parade. It was not our goal to make our float cute enough for the parade, but it turned out really good and we were all excited to be in the main parade. I will post pictures of the big parade later.
