Winter Quarters Temple/Pioneer Memorial Cemetery
On the day that we left Omaha, we decided to stop by the Winter Quarters Temple and Pioneer Memorial Cemetery. It was so neat and gave us a chance to remember the pioneers and all that they went through to get to Utah. We went on a tour of the visitor's center and we had a darling missionary guide us through and talk to us. She focused mainly on the boys and they did a great job listening and learning about the temple and cemetery. Here they are in front of the visitor's center.
There was a handcart there that the boys had a chance to try and pull. The missionary placed a rock under the wheel to make it more difficult. The boys didn't think that was very funny. She also had them dress up in pioneer clothes.

The temple was really small, but very beautiful. I think the boys really enjoyed going there.
This is us and our friends, the Nielsons, the Marshalls and the Poulsens, in front of the temple.
The Sunday after we got home Taylor had to give a talk in Sacrament Meeting. He decided to talk about temples and pioneers. It was pretty neat because he was able to use some of the things that he learned from the missionary. It was a great experience and I am so glad we took the time and went there before coming home.
